Race and Extreme Violence in American Society Today

MIT will hold a panel discussion of violence against racial minorities in the US. Panelists will compare the Trayvon Martin incident and the death of Jicun Wu, owner of a Chinese takeout in Philadelphia, as instances of extreme violence against the black and Asian American communities. Martin was killed in Florida in February 2012, Wu died in Pennsylvania in March 2012: what does this say about the state of race relations in US society today?
